Paul1982 0
Hi Guys,Just thought I’d share some of my pictures of my on going project:Started Life Looking like this:Then I got some cheap RS4’s (from a mate) - FK Coilovers, Full Exhaust System and Twin Hella Lights :-) I like my sounds so me and my mate spent 2 days fitting and setting up my alpine system etcWent two to three weeks loving the car (its my fourth VR now) and then organised a mate (bodyshop) to sort lots of the body work out.So I just picked her up lastnight (nearly complete) after having:Colour coded door handlesSmoothed front and back bumpersColour coded front and rear splittersDe-Badged GrillSmoothed Rear tail gate with new rear window removing spoilerAll arched rolled and painted (rears had some rust)Both Sills looked like they might need attention soon so had them done anywayFull body Mop and touch up.And much more I cant remember :-p These are my new Alloys soon to be going on 16†BBS RS (What do you think?)Basically these alloys should have gone on the car while the work was getting done but due to the muppets at Kwik Fit over tightening the front locking wheel nuts and no one has been able to get the front alloys off yet lolSo going back there tonight to get them to sort it :-( I’m not the smallest of lads so I’m sure they wont think twice once they see how pi**ed off I’ve been about this as they better have an idea of how to get the buggers off!! LolAnyway what’s left to do by the bodyshop is Paint the callipers fit the wheels and pull the arches too suit as the rears look very wide and if I wanna go for the slammed look they might need some serious attention :-( Anyway hope you guys think I’m going down the right path?? binliner 0
Should look good when the BBS are on but if you've already had the arches rolled and painted, why didnt the bodyshop pull them before they painted them? Rear quarters will need painting again now!
Paul1982 0
Totally agree Binliner - he made a mistake lol so he's doing it again for free ;-)It was my fault been as if I could have got the RS4's off he would have changed them over and remembered

goonersteve 0
Very nice Paul, liking that alot. Are you gonna colour code the alloys as well, or leave 'em as they are?
Paul1982 0
Well i had the alloys powered coated gold as I want to put a gold strip around the car making it looks like the anniversary gti style... Just something a bit different i guess
jaysVR6 2
Shame he's not actually in it!! lol Anyway shouldn't you be picking up a car? :-# All in good time fella, all in good time (2 hours actually!!)Anyway, enough of this selfish thread hijacking. binliner 0
yeah sorry for hijacking! Saw the bit about the rear arch pulling on E38... what ET are the 9s?
Paul1982 0
Yeah I think they are - I thought i was going to be an easy job, slide hammer them out and touch up but it looks like they need to go out atleast 3 inches so I might be struggling :-(
Paul1982 0
Ah ha - bought them off Coxy so just looked at his thread again and they are 8J and 7 on front - so might be ok with just a little pull http://www.vr6oc.com/userposts.php?0.forums.5038I want mine to sit around 2-3 inches lower than coxys aswel
binliner 0
Yeah I think they are think they are what?! I meant what offset (ET) are they but Ive just seen on that thread they are et24 so with 25mm adaptors will be et-1 so they will stick out a bit but with stretched tyres and a bit of arch pulling you should be able to squeeze then underthere's no way on earth you're going to 'pull' an arch out 3"!!
