Will a mk3 gti 8v exhaust fit the vr??

Reason for asking there seems to be a lot of ads on ebay saying mk3 gti/vr6 system, could someone please enlighten me.

So the bores are the same?? Don't want to restrict flow, plus my exhaust has past it's sell by date.

really, i looked at a exhuast book the other day, and im sure the bore size is different?? i no the 16v and vr6 list aas the same system , but i thought the 8v had a smaller bore ??

From what is listed, VR6, 16V, and TDI are the same.

If they are advertised as fitting all three, vr6 16 and 8v, then they will usually be 2.25-2.5 systems with reducers supplied for joining up to the cat. just means a reduction in back pressure...
