Second hand supercharger

I'm going to have a look at a second hand z engineering stage 2. Can you tell me anythings to look out for.

yes make sure its got all the correct fittings for your car, if your car is ac and the charger kit is non a/c i,ll swap you brackets.i,m looking for one at the moment,the idler pulley bracket

It is an a/c set up and comes with everything he had running on his OB1 engine. He says he put it straight on his standard engine with no re-map and it ran fine. I'm putting it on an OB2 engine and i'm not sure if I would need a re-map or larger injectors etc?

sounds like a Z engineering ZR2 as opposed to stage 2... stage 2 would involve an 8psi pulley and different injectors which you wouldnt be running on a standard map.

So this should just bolt on and go?

Does anyone know what psi/bhp to expect assuming its a ZR2?

Standard ZR2 is 6psi and you won't be able to just 'Bolt on and go'. £350-£400 Remap, front engine mount and deffo exhaust is required and i'd also recommend an oil cooler.

Expect a realistic 250-260bhp without water injection.

I can get a chip from the guy for £150. Will I need this for the remap.

wouldnt bother, better off with a custom map specific to your engine

If the guy ran it on a standard map his engine must be screwed now! I only kept the standard map for the run in period and didnt exceed 4000rpm until properly remapped
