Electric windows going down when I lock the car

Hi guys, I've had my VR6 for only a month now. Last week I went out left my car locked and returned to find that the doors had all unlocked themselves and the front windows had wound themselves down. This then happened again the same day.

This seems strange as the electric windows can surely only be wound down while the battery is switched on? I'm thinking a possible short?

On a sort of related note, is it worth buying a Golf Haynes even though it doesn't include the vr6, even if just for the wiring diagrams?

bad earth,check battery terminals and main earth block (near throttle body) are tight/not corroded.might not be this but it's worth checking

The windows are connected too the locks, there is a comfort lock setting when you use the key, hold it locked they will go up hold it unlocked and they will go down, my guess is there is something wrong with the switch

Cheers for the help guys. I've managed to solve it now. There was moisture over the central locking pump. I think this was shorting it. I've now swapped it for a new one and put it in a marigold glove to keep anymore water off it. I think I have a seal problem around the lights that I need to sort.

Liking the marigold trick i just used clear silicon ,but as long as it does the job
