cliveyp 0
Hey guys, been a while since i've popped up on here, but here we go!My MK2 VR has had some work over time and the plans are that she;ll be off the road this winter, probably before, to get it all completely sorted bodywork wise. When it's being done, i'm tempted to pull the engine to get the bay painted too and thought i might attack it when its out. It's had:2.9 rebore, Corrado pistons, ringsRecon headSchrick 268'senlarge throttle body (BMW flap)lightened flyStealth remapIt was all done about 12k ago now, roughly, and when being mapped managed a healthy 215bhp. Only just before xmas, i took it to P-Torque for a RR day where it managed 228bhp....not bad for a N/A VR i don't think!!Anyways, i'm just wondering about some next stages, without going to a charger just yet. Is it worth getting the crank knife-edged and balanced? Any other thoughts?I'll be honest, it does seem to blow a little oil smoke out at high revs occasionally, which suprises me given the new-ness of it all, but once it's puffed two or three times, it doesn't really bother again. Is this something to look at?
