swaper 0
Today i had the car dynotested. Despite the V9F Stage2 , the output was only 220PS.Note that the engine counts less than 6000 Km. I also worry about the lean mixture ( as shown in Lamda diagram )I run a 3bar fuel pressure regulator and the VR6 Specialist's chip.Any suggestions ????http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh280/swaper/Lamda.jpghttp://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh280/swaper/Dynosheet1.jpg
Phat VR6 3
whats 220 ps in bhp??
xyber 1
about 215 bhp i think, try a 4 bar fuel pressure reg and what injectors do you have?
swaper 0
The red top injectors ( according the Stage 2 upgrade ) ... i just replace the fpr with the one of 4bar. No big deal ... i think the chip is responsible for the lean mixture. As i cannot "see" my engine through the OBD port, i need to get another ECU. Where can i get one ? In Greece this car is very rare .....
swaper 0
220.6 ps = 217.58 bhp
xyber 1
4 bar reg will more than likely sort it I would think
Matt W 4
I think if it was me i would take the charger of the car see what power it makes in standard form. If its normal then put the charger back on and trouble shoot from there. If the engine is down on power without the charger then investigate way.As 220PS with a Stage2 charger is seriously down on power, the VR without a charger generally develops about 174-190PS. A Stage1 charger should give you a healthy 230PS or more and a Stage2 i would expect around 260PS or more!
swaper 0
You are right but your idea, involves too much work ... If you notice the Lambda curves, you can see very lean mixture. In addtion as i cannot detect my engine through th OBD, i am seriously thinking that something is wrong with my ECU.My engine was recently rebuilted by a friend, so i hope everything is Ok. I doudt about the managment and other adjustments ...
Eat this 2
is the charger actually spinning properly?it could possibly be bad belt slip have you checked how much boost its making?the torque graph is actually a nice shape apart from maybe dropping off earlier than it should (which gives less peak bhp) whats the peak torque figure?
swaper 0
Yes ! if you can see i get a pressure of 7.6 psi.The peak torque is 30.49 kgM.It seems like lack of fuel after 5500 rpm to me ....
swaper 0
Acording the Dutches, the Lambda reading should be roughly 0.65 - 0.85 ..... but check out what i saw!!!
rodney 17
ok reasons for low power on stage 2running fuel which is not super rated (hig octane)limit in air flow both in and out this could also be an air leak. check there are no restrictions on the air filter _is it cold air feed? then what size exhaust are you running and do you have a big enough outletfuel pressure reg should be 4 bar and red tops used for injectors. the lambda must be workingare you MAF set up or not?if these ae all correct then may i suggest a remap rather than using the standard chip. I know you are in greece but you may be able to get stealth in the UK to do one for you and send it over...I hope it helps
swaper 0
running fuel which is not super rated (hig octane) I use only 100 octane fuellimit in air flow both in and out this could also be an air leak. check there are no restrictions on the air filter _is it cold air feed? absolutely .Air filter is located 8cm above the ground !then what size exhaust are you running and do you have a big enough outlet 63 mm borefuel pressure reg should be 4 bar and red tops used for injectors. That's right !the lambda must be working It is in place ( no cat converter )are you MAF set up or not? MAF just before the V9F...if these ae all correct then may i suggest a remap rather than using the standard chip. I am about placing the Stage 2 chip into a new ECU ...I know you are in greece but you may be able to get stealth in the UK to do one for you and send it over Maybe that would be my next step !!! swaper 0
I also think, i have better measure my ful pump ... Which should be the reading ? fpr @ 4bars
UnitedMotorsport 55
Fuel pressure at the fuel rail with a 4 bar FPR should read 4bar with the vacuum pipe pulled off at idle. It should also be 4bar at WOT under FULL load.
swaper 0
this is my tuner's opinion = your engine is running way too lean Looks like a broken fuel pump or so, install fuel pressure. should go to 3 bar + boost is 3,7 bar at 7000 rpm.dont drive above 5000 rpm, you can easily kill your engine. install a 4 bar fpr to make sure you get enough fuel.the pump will more easily fail with a 4 bar fpr then with a 3 bar fpr.max power should be at 6600-7000rpm. with lambda roughly said 0,65-0,85I think it is reasonable .... Eat this 2
the obd2 golf vr6 uses a 3 bar fuel pump tooa coraddo vr6 fuel pump is 4 bar and possibly an obd1 golf vr6 pump
UnitedMotorsport 55
A fuel pumps pressure is regulated by the FPR.
Eat this 2
ah ok mate but if ur usin a 4 bar fpr (i am) youd also need to make sure uv got a 4 bar pump (i am) correct??
