Haz89 0
I noticed a slight tapping noise in the engine which gradually went, however a week later after using it most days has now left it tapping constantly and louder. A mechanic suggested an engine flush since the origin of the tapping was not coming from the expected location. I feel that an engine flush will just incure more cost because i dont think that will solve it. The tapping increases as the revs increase. If anyone could offer advise i would be gratful. vw_golf_vr6 0
i agree, engine flush it, then treat it to new filter and some quality oil.never skimp on servicing
VR6mitch 0
Hi i would personaly avoid the engine flush as any build up of rubbish anyway in the system can be dislodged and could block the smaller oilways, try new oil and filter. Andy

Andy[/quote']or clean away 'good' crud, that is blocking potential leaks, causing it to leak like a sieve and need a large dose of ££££££££££ to sort outI wanted abit more than just an oil change back along, so I did the oil and filter, then did it again 2 weeks later, surprisingly effective I found
VR6_Absy 0
Yet again lol Xyber is spot on, don't scrimp on oil changes to keep things sweet. It's cheap don't even contemplate doing em
