Problems Please Help!

Hi i took my car for a rolling road today and it read 170hp and 200 lb/ft of torque at the flywheel. My car has a straight through exhaust with decat, pipercross filter and a superchips uk chip.

My car is running very rich at the moment (getting around 10mpg around the town and about 25mpg on the motorway at 70mph) and the tuner didnt manage to eradicate the problem, he seemed to think i need a new lamba sensor which will sort the fueling out.?

possibly, clean the MAF aswell and if all else fail get it on VAG-COM

ps if your getting the MPG reading from the MFA screen on the dash, ignore it as it talks crap most of the time

Were the lambda values taking whilst it was on the rolling road? I remember in a previous life that some people were complaining about superchips for the same reasons so will need it VAG'ed to find any error kick ups, and I agree with xyber, work out your fuel consumption by what you put in your tank and not what the dash says, on my old highline it regularly read 7MPG lol.

Ok thanks it just seems like a major loss of power thats going on at the moment and cant understand why as 170bhp just doesnt seem to be correct with the mods it has.

Ok i will try and take note of how much it is drinking exactly but am sure its running too rich. I will try and get a diagnostic asap.

bet you get better BHP figures without the "superchip"

have you had it on the VAG-COM yet?

No i never even knew what it was until i done a google search today. Could i get this done at a VW dealer and what sort of price would i expect?

try and find a local VW specialist not a main dealer as itll be cheaper, prices do tend to vary a fair bit

As Pete says, bin the chip if you can and get a custom remap if you do any more power mods
