CJVR6 0 Posted April 11, 2008 Report Share Posted April 11, 2008 Did a compression test tonight and pots 1, 2 and 4 came out at 10, 10.5 and 11 pots 3,5 and 6 came out at 13, 14, 14.5 can anyone give some advice on this matterI think that if it was the headgasket wouldnt it only be high on just one pot?theres no water in the oil and shes running fine not useing too much oil. Worn cylinder bores, piston rings and poorly seating valves can also give you differing results.I'd be tempted to have a cylinder leakage test performed to see where your compression is escaping to. CJVR6 0 Posted April 14, 2008 Author Report Share Posted April 14, 2008 Cheers DevilDubits been overheating but only when shes being thrashed as if the coolant system is being pressurised?shes booked in for a leak down test on wed so maybe we find out whats wrong any ideas now you've got more info?? After said thrashing check to see how hot the radiator is if at all, and also check to see if any of the cooling pipes are rock hard. This would tend to suggest a break in the head gasket between the cylinders and cooling system. Leakdown will easily trace this. Link to post Share on other sites
