Bullwinkle668 0 Posted September 21, 2004 Report Share Posted September 21, 2004 About a week ago, I noticed two things.1. The coolant warning lamp came on - the reservoir was completely empty.2. Some discoloured liquid had run from behind the dash onto the front/left floor.A week later, the coolant reservoir has come up empty again and there is still evidence of liquid running onto the carpet front/left floor.Obviously a coolant leak somewhere. Ferrari VR6 0 Posted September 21, 2004 Report Share Posted September 21, 2004 Sounds like it could be the heater matrix leaking, i had this problem in an old sierra a few years back, it's a total slag to change but doable. I've never swapped one on a VR, so i'd wait for some more advise / ideas before ripping you dash apart, good luck mate... Link to post Share on other sites
dubloke 4 Posted September 21, 2004 Report Share Posted September 21, 2004 definately sounds like a matrix failure if its leaking inside the car to me. never changed one of these on a vr b4, thankfully, but have done one on a mk.2 and it is a bugger of a job as most of the lower dash and ancillaries have to come out to get to the matrix! get a bently diagram of the matrix from someone on here who has the manual and have a butchers at whats involved first!
