Crappy Idle - Idle Stabilizer Valve + Throttle Body

My 97 Vr's idle is a bit erratik starting the car from cold the revs shoot up to around 2000rpm for around 3 secs then drops to around 1500 after about a minute or so this drops down to around 900rpm,

If i put some revs on then take my foot off the accelereter the revs go back upto 2000 again then drop slowly back down to 900.You know how old ppl drive the cars not moving and the there reving the crap out of the car, thats probly what it look like to anyone watching me reverse out of my drive.

Anyhow when the cars warms up the problem goes .

I have searched the forum for some idea and have come up with the isv and throttle body.

I have found a guide to cleaning the isv here http://www.dronez.co.za/kaktus/vr6isv.html

but i cant seem to find a guide with pics for cleaning the throttle body on this forum or else where can anyone point me to a guide?

OBD2 VR6s dont have an ISV. There's a guide here http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1116399 for cleaning MK4 TBs, but the process for the MK3 is much the same.
