i dont normally give it any untill its warm. but a few times recently. when i put my foot down, when the oil temp is 50 ish it seem to pull a lot harder and faster then when its up to about 80 ish? why would that be? thanks

Have you got an induction kit? If its sucking in warm air that heated by the engine it would feel abit slower

Get a heat shield. . . . . .. Neuspeed.com or many other. I have the same problem and gonna try to fix it with a shiel, but i have turbo so the IC piping will have to be rerouted first.

something like a BMC CDA or PiperX Viper would be good as it isolates the cold air going to the inlet and the ram effect is noticable when you boot it

and a low temp stat is worth doing

i agree about heatsheild for the filter or mod a stock airbox so the cone filter fits in, can cut top of airbox off as well

Looks like somones got a headlight missing to aid cold air feed lol. I always thougth heat soak happend more in traffic and on hot days.. So it could be pointing towards a sensor. If you got a laptop then ebay vag.com its only cheep

The car is pulling timing and fuel at that temperature as it's still on choke. Combined with cold air it will feel more pokey.

Thing is, carry on driving it like that from cold and you'll kill it, plain and simple.

Dont answer that;). I feel it in my car aswell, and i dont need high rpms, just 2000 to 3200 rpm with full throttle.

Its just heatsoke mate. It gets better when u dont have to stand still and dont get any cooling air. And you should bypass your inteke manifold water lines so you dont heat it up even more. . . . . i have bypassed the throttle body water hoses, if theyre the same thing?? that heatcoop wouldnt suit my car i dont think...lol might go back to a sealed induction kit then. thanks matey

the car overall doesnt run hot. rarely gets half way up temp guage, where as my mates sits at half? doing oil this week anyway so we`ll c. cheers guys.

where does the low temp stat sensor sit? Yes was the manifold coolant lines i meant.
