j933 vrd 0
i dont normally give it any untill its warm. but a few times recently. when i put my foot down, when the oil temp is 50 ish it seem to pull a lot harder and faster then when its up to about 80 ish? why would that be? thanks
xyber 1
Have you got an induction kit? If its sucking in warm air that heated by the engine it would feel abit slower
Eat this 2
it shouldnt pull alot harder unless youv got an underlying issue mate
j933 vrd 0
pipercross cone filter. i was thinking maybee a sensor of some sort?

Lizard Racing 0
The bores are either very worn or the coolant temp sensor is faulty.
Lizard Racing 0
Ignore that, Ive just re-read your post and im talking utter bolx
Bobtrude 0
Get a heat shield. . . . . .. Neuspeed.com or many other. I have the same problem and gonna try to fix it with a shiel, but i have turbo so the IC piping will have to be rerouted first.
xyber 1
something like a BMC CDA or PiperX Viper would be good as it isolates the cold air going to the inlet and the ram effect is noticable when you boot itand a low temp stat is worth doing
j933 vrd 0
HAD A VIPER ON, WASNT KEEN ON IT. TAKES AWAY THE VR NOISE. NOBODY THINKS A SENSOR??? ANYONE LOCAL WITH VAGCOM?
vw_golf_vr6 0
i agree about heatsheild for the filter or mod a stock airbox so the cone filter fits in, can cut top of airbox off as well
Phat VR6 3
Looks like somones got a headlight missing to aid cold air feed lol. I always thougth heat soak happend more in traffic and on hot days.. So it could be pointing towards a sensor. If you got a laptop then ebay vag.com its only cheep
j933 vrd 0
did have when i had viper on... got fk angels now. my mate has just told me he got vagcom. will have to get it on n c what happens
jaysVR6 2
The car is pulling timing and fuel at that temperature as it's still on choke. Combined with cold air it will feel more pokey.Thing is, carry on driving it like that from cold and you'll kill it, plain and simple.
j933 vrd 0
just the odd time i have had my foot down i have noticed it. what your sayin is i need more fuel???
jaysVR6 2
Nope mate, the car is running perfectly normal.
vr6newcomer 1
when you say "had to put my foot down" what sort of rpm's & speed are you talking about?
Bobtrude 0
Dont answer that;). I feel it in my car aswell, and i dont need high rpms, just 2000 to 3200 rpm with full throttle.
j933 vrd 0
sounds the same as bobtrude`s. why have you any ideas???
Bobtrude 0
Its just heatsoke mate. It gets better when u dont have to stand still and dont get any cooling air. And you should bypass your inteke manifold water lines so you dont heat it up even more. . . . . And get a big ass hoodscoop and a fan like this http://www.astroshow.com/Alaska07/348BigSnowBlower.jpgThen youre good to go.
xyber 1
give the new oil, low temp stat and new coolant a go, you will be surprised, just the fresh oil will knock the temps down a few deg i found
j933 vrd 0
i have bypassed the throttle body water hoses, if theyre the same thing?? that heatcoop wouldnt suit my car i dont think...lol might go back to a sealed induction kit then. thanks matey
