hi there all i have a slite problem with my golf vr6 2.8 when i boot it its seems to splutter at 5,500 rpm and doesnt go no futher any one have any ideas to what is wrong

Which gear does it do this in?

VAG.com it mate, That will check all your sencers ect.

Also a blocked exhaust could cause the same kind of problem from a build up of back presure

Few things you can do that only take a few minutes

Is it well serviced? Have a little mooch at your air filter make sure its not blocked up

Also unplug your MAF... And go for alittle drive

Failing that get it on VAG.com as its the easyest way to see if you got a cam senser down ect

follow the tube coming from the airbox to the inlet manifold.. Its the sencer/ plug just after the airbox. U will know what i mean when you see it

mine did a similar thing. it was rotor arm? is your an early obd1?

hi there mines the obd2 m8 so it cant be the rotor arm

Wouldn't say the above tread sounds like the same problem but i don't live with the car... How did you get on disconecting the maf

Is it well maintained? Know it sounds like a dumb arse question but you'd be surprised what passes for well maintained in this day and age.

Also seen a few threads like this already, might be worth checking your HT leads, especially if they're "high performance" ones.

hi there again ive taken the air flow meter lead of and it runs all the way to the limited without holding bad but when i put it back on it holds back

So it runs well without it conected? And when it conected it generaly runs ruff and wont hit the redline?
