yeah should be done before rr day, im waiting on delivery of some arp head bolts and then its full systems go, should be around 2 hours to build it up, and im hoping to have the intercooler pipes mocked up before then to save some time. only need to get a 3 stud flang and match up to the orig exhaust and its done , bar setting up of the fuel pressure etc.

hoping for around 320 bhp at 7-8 psi, im saying that cause iu have some nice new schimmel 263 cams going in at the same time :) gonna run 1 bar max when im happy with it, but until then im just gonna turn it up bit by bit

well, ive only had half a hour on it tonight , but have managed to mock up the pipe's to where they will pass through into the car. fitted bumper back on and it still looks stealthy. i need to trim a bit more lower bumper but nothing too bad. will bring a stihl saw home tommorrow to cut some more pipes.

phil, i guarentee it will work, how well it will work is another question. im off to get another cutting disc tonight and then im gonna mark up the pipes that need mitre cuts in them, tack them and trail fit them. ive been told my arp head bolts will be here end of this week, so im planning the rest of the build for the end of the month giving me a 26 days to shake the car down and get it ready for the rolling road day

well, ive just ordered the last of the silicons, i could have welded and mitred all the intercooler pipes, but the silicons are gonna make it so much easier. im also gonna take a trip down to vw, and enquire about the 1.8t return, you havent got a part no have you tony?

apart from that , ive just got the inlet to bolt back on, some pipes and the housing that goes with it, and thats about it.

im on night sfor another week, so depending on work , itll either be done or it wont. but im hoping for a start this coming weekend. giving me a week to shake it down and iron out any bugs.

well, a quick update, as im on nights and have been poorly pete, i havent done much this week, i did get the other silicons i need , so the intercooler pipes should be done over the weekend, as will the plumbing for the begi fmu..im however doubtful for north weald next week, but it will be running for the rr day at the end of july.

Jim this is amazing and such a good read... i'll be doing the Vento when i've sold me bike... Keep up the good work :) -

Can you use an intercooler off anything then so long as its of a reasonable size??? How does it mount to the front bumper???

my intercooler came form the bloke whoim i brough a large part of the kit (secondhand), although i was going to go for a cossie intercooler, i know there are argfuments about what size intercooler, and its also possible to have to big a intercooler for a car..it depends on type (bar and plate or bar and fin) and how much horsepower you want to push, mine should be ok in that respect.

more photos tonight as ive done a bit more
