stuartvr6hi 0
I have a golf mk3 1995 N reg 2.9 vr6 syncro and will be ringing up for a supercharger tomorrow. BUT I'm not sure if I have and obd1 or obd2 engine. I though all 2.9 were obd1. I've check this forum before on the difference between an obd1 and obd2 and everything points to an obd2 engine. I have heard of 2.9 being obd2 so can anyone help. ps I know people are always posting asking about this but I'm desperate!(I think it is an obd2)it does have-http://www.vr6oc.com/images/Guides/obd/obd7.jpgand other obd2 bits
UnitedMotorsport 55
Easiest way is to plug VAG-COM into it, When you select the engine module, itll show you the ECU part number021 906 256 XX is OBD2021 906 258 XX is OBD1Does the engine have an idle valve? how many wires on there on the Throttle body plug? stuartvr6hi 0
Cheers everyone!!!!I’ll order an obd2 kit then, allot of people on edition38 are saying obd2 aswell. And as for those fuel savers they will defiantly be coming off, they were on the car when I got it and do nothing but make an annoying whistling noise.
