hi just bin out in my golf and the peddle has just stayed at the floor ...i mean its like the clutch cable has snaped but they dont have one i looked at the peddle and theres a rod sticking out and a bit of pastick is broken and its white it looks like it holds the rod to the peddle....can any one help

Has the clutch felt heavy? The rod is part of the master cylnder which supplies fluid to the slave cylnder which pushes the clutch, and the white plastic clip locates the ROD of the master cylnder to the pedal. Check the pedal as there is a small box section that the white plastic clip fits into and the front spotwelds can break and the rod comes through and jams the pedal down, If this has happend then new pedal,

You've ansered your own qwestion mate

Change the while clip as your going to have to anyway. Its obvs that the pedal isn't acting on the master cylinder as you say that clips broken and the rod sticking out.

i had this prob not so long ago. spot welds on that lil plate gave in. i had it rewelded, its all good now.

its common for them to break to be honest mate' date=' just replace it and your sorted.

although its common thing, i think when i happened to me i could only find 1 or 2 threads on this.
