rodney 17
I saw my first R36 today. my local dub garage had an Estate (blue) parked up and I heard and saw it... Suprisingly quiet... Until you book it...But this led me to thinking...... When should an engine become a V8? 3.2 fine as a v6 but after 3.5 V8????? What do ya think???
cabrioman 6
well the 300c is a 3.5 v6 they dont use v8 till u get silly numbers like 5.7 and 6.1guess it just depens the size of the block and pistons
NicDale 0
Around 4 litres seems the common change point to a V8.

vw_golf_vr6 0
v6's make better cruisers, but sound awesome when booted
jaysVR6 2
Quite simply i'd say fuel economy and performance.Long Stroke + Big Bore = Lots of air and fuel!!Until V8's became over squared i.e lower capacity and shorter stroke so they revved higher, they were just gas guzzling torque monsters. However the cost of these engines now are astronomical as quad cams and multi valves are very intricate machines. So all in all, V6s due to their shorter stroke an smaller bore make a great compromise.
