Damo 85 0
its well within limits, but not a great sign when you also mention the rad pipe being cooler. mine ran quite hot for a couple of weeks then the thermostat stuck shut on a motorway run... eek. best tryin a new thermostat and fresh coolant etc. you'll find the thermostat about halfway down the block, passenger side. its in the housing that ur radiator pipes go into... u'll prob also find it easier to remove the entire housing to get at it.. since i changed all mine it hardly ever gets over 94. vr6ixy 0
Thanks Damo picked up a new thermostat last night so will get it fitted at the weekend, fun and games by the looks of it, what a strange position/place to put a thermostat.
Damo 85 0
lol tell me about it! i sat looking at it for ages thinking, its so bloody awkward. most cars you can just take off a little cover and the stat drops out. this ones that tight that u either have to have the transmission off, or remove the whole housing just to get at the bolts!! might be worth getting a new housing & o-rings etc as they are prone to just pi$$ing water out once you start to play around with em. just so you know lol
tonk 0
i drilled a small hole in my new one as they old one had some sort of preasure/bleeding hole in it from new. helps with air lock.
