Saunders82 0
the etka pictures are right and the other vin indicater is right. ekta is telling you which factory on the 11th digit the other indicater is telling you what region the car is built from if any car you look at doesnt start with a w its a import from the US brazil etc its not really appliable to us.also what google search says is mainly to do with american chassis numbers as europeon chassis numbers start generrally wvwzzz only the first 3 mean anything for our market.also mk3 golfs on a "w" chassis year are generally from south africa i dont know if this applies to gtis/vr6s but its does to the lesser models. Generally you will be told by a parts person your chassis number doesnt work if its on a "w" chassis
Charged VR 0
Your Chassis number should start withWVWZZZ1HZ The next digit is Build Year. For Example S = 1995. The next letter is the Factory the Car came from For Example W = Wolfsburg. the rest of the numbers are just production run numbers

Charged VR 0
The Production process was changed on '95 and the panels were all galvanised. So only the pre 96 realy suffer from rot unless it has been repaired badly. Dont think the year on a mk3 went up to W on the age. W normaly stands for Wolfsburg which is where European Golfs are made
