Don't take anything for granted guys. I'm still not convinced the beast is giving her all at the moment :(

I keep having this horrible recurring running lean nightmare. :o:o

I'll be happy enough to hear that's not the problem.

I've just noticed that your MAF is after the charger.

I've heard that the OBD1 engines run better with the MAF before the charger....hmmm now that's puzzling. I've been for a run in your car and it was amazing......so, do i run my MAF before or after the charger?!?! Aarrgghhh!!

Jules and I both moved our mafs to before the charger as the car runs like crap with them after the charger (rough idle, stuttering on part throttle) because the obd 1 mafs are so sensitive. Obd 2 seem to run ok with the maf in the normal position but I've seen a highline with the maf after the charger and it didn't idle very smoothly.

All the current supercharger kits run the maf before the charger and it's for a good reason, customers expect a stock factory idle and smooth running and you won't get that unless you relocate the maf. They also run diverter valves (I do as well) which prevents the car from stalling and takes the pressure of the throttle butterfly so the charger boosts quicker when you get back on the accelerator. Also, the maf will fail sooner as it can't take that kind of air turbulence. The maf prefers smooth linear airflow which you get when the engine sucks through the maf instead of blowing through it.

I'd run your car with the maf after the charger and if it idles roughly and stutters under part throttle, relocate it and incorporate a dv.

The car's already quite lumpy on idle and slow driving, but that's mainly down to the Schrick Cams me thinks.

I'll run the MAF before the charger, because ideally i don't want to make it even lumpier on idle!

Right i can probably get a decent Forge Recirc DV fairly cheap. How and where would i need to plumb it in? Can you send me some close up pics of your DV positioning etc etc. markminter@fsmail.net

where u gettin the cheap forge d/v from' date=' as i just realised i cant run an atmospheric bov on my turbo conversion with an MAF. poo. now i gotta make do with a recirc till i sort out a stand alone with MAP.

Why do you think you cant run an atmo valve then - just make sure you get a Bailey DV26 twin piston - it might run slightly rich during gearchanges but thats about it - plenty of MAF cars running atmo valves including my old Saab 8o)

You can run an atmosphere dv with the maf after the charger but where do you put it and on which side of the maf? There is bit of a debate about this on vortex but I'm not sure what the answer is. You can run one with the maf before as long as the car doesn't stall all the time.
