I've been running with leaky valve stem seals / guide wear for over two years. But do not show any of your other symptoms.

My only symptom is a huge plume of oil smoke when I boot it after engine breaking / over run at junctions, roundabouts etc.

P.s. In that time I haven't changed my plugs or even checked them for oil so can't say if that is significant.

valve stem seals aren't terminal just yet but they will eventually get worse. it cost me £500 to replace 3 as the head came off and went to a specialist to be skimmed. The boiling water inthe header tank sounds like the thermostat not opening correctly, thus causing the temp sender not to operate the fan.
