Maybe post some pics up and there's a few detailing gurus on the forum who will be able to give you some advice. Likely you'll need to rub down with 1500 - 3000 wet and dry and machine polish back up if the "scratches" are scratches deep enough to feel with your fingernail. Otherwise general swirling or marring can mostly be machine polished out (but given your question you'll be better off employing a pro detailer to get the best results as VR6 paint is hard as nails too).
