VR6mitch 0
Hi guys as in the title my highline passenger window when you open it or close it will only do so a couple of inchs at a time, it is the same whether you use the switch drivers or passenger. When using the key in the door the window will move up 2 inchs and stop car then locked. Any ideas. *-) Cheers Andy.

Phat VR6 3
does it sound ruff and kind of grind to a stop? Its very lightly your window reg mechanism has failed. Very common fault. Your lucky tho because its normaly the drives side that goes, making them rare to find on the bay, Shouldn't be to hard to come across one on the bay... There £75-80 new from VW Take the door card off and have a look at the cables, Normally you can see them all chewed upHope this helps Tom
VR6mitch 0
Cheers Tom i will have a look at the cables, as for noise ect there is'nt any, nice and smooth as it should be except the bloody thing only moves a couple of inchs at a time. When you say regulator is that the actual motor?. Cheers Andy
Phat VR6 3
Can you get it to open all the way down? I was talking about the mechanism. If the cables and sliders runner ect are ok (all one part from vw). then theres only the switch and motor left, By pass the switch and if its still the same change the motor
VR6mitch 0
Yeh it goes all the way down just in steps, and does the same from both switches. So guess that leaves the motor then. Cheers TomAndy
