hiya everyone, im ant - new to the site but will prob be a second home soon, ive been in the dub circle for a while now only ever had mk2 golfs from basic right up to GTI 16v etc...

currently i own the mk2 in my sig and you`ve guessed it its Vr converted...

the car runs really well, pulls well etc so the otherday i booked it in on a local rolling road to my shock it came out at 161bhp and 163lbs/ft..

a little shocked i worked around the engine, plugs, leads, repaired a split breather and a small split in the intake pipe...

anything else i could be??

its an OBD2 2.8 with 69k on it, engine uses no oil/water.

cheers in advance

just trying to scan the printout - 3 vista machines and an old scanner dont mix...

------------------------

engine power measured . 158.4@106mph / 5688rpm

wheel power measured 140.8 @106mph 5688rpm

power losses 17.6 hp @106mph 5688 rpm

engine power 160 @106mph 5688rpm

tourque 163 lbs/ft @4320 rpm

pressure/temp 997 mbar/16degrees C

test conducted using SUN dynomometer...

as i say as soon as i get one of these vista machines to dual boot ill scan a copy of the table

so u reckon its running reasonably well?

by exhaust do you mean the lack of ack pressure? i belive it is a 16v scorpion straight through with std manifold.

is the figure of 17.6 something the operator inputs into the machine?

I'd say so.

yep, from my limited knowledge anyway

no it's measured by the rollers. when the car is in neutral it at least should be ;-)

Our 500bhp rolling road installation has recently been upgraded to a Sun RAM 3000 with diagnostic and data aquisition systems, providing accurate power and torque curves with full temperature and barometric correction. The new system also provides much-improved data printouts for the customer

mrgoth so your saying its the losses from the transmission the higher the number the more losses??

sounds like this parameter wasnt setup correctly then...

worth a trip back armed with info?

cheers again guys. at least i know not to go forking out on bits. thought it was quite odd as it likes picking on civic type r`s and generally sticking to them like glue.

just spotted a leaky flexi joint on the downpipe.. so a few more pennies to spend.

at the end of the day it's the wheel power that actually 'gets you there' but the garage might be grateful to find out that there is something wrong in their new set up, or at least how they are using it ;-)

though to be honest I'm surprised they didn't realise on the day as a 17bhp loss is so wrong.
