VIW28 29
I have just fitted 4" MAF, 440cc Bosch Green Tops with C2 software into my VR to run along with Vortech V1 charger. The car is OBDII. On initial start up of car it runs extremely rough and will not idle and fills the garage with fumes/smoke and bad smell of petrol. It seems that the car is getting way too much fuel. Is it possible that if I have the MAF housing on the wrong way it would run this badly? Please help as I need the car to go to the last show in our season on Sunday over here in N. Ireland. I am currently on holiday and will not be back until Saturday so I'm relying on a mate to have a look for me in the mean time. Cheers peeps.
UnitedMotorsport 55
Sounds like you have the MAF in backwards. There is an arrow on the MAF element that shows direction of air flow. The arrow needs to face away from the air filter.
