Ed 2
right i got me a nice 2.9 manifold accidentaly the other day, i take it is possible to slap a 2.9 on a 2.8 engine? is there any gain from this? Also is there any point in getting the throttle polished an ported an the butterfly knife edged? chan 0
i went to do that to mine. and it depends what manifold it is. if its of a corrado they only made it in odb1 and would only go on a odb1 engine. if your engine is odb2 the only 2.9 manifold and bodie that would fit would be the one off a syncro golf or passat and there quite hard to come by. but yea it will give you a bit more bottom down grunt but as i say only if you have the right one to fit your car. gavinvr6 0
also may i add that you would be better to fit the throttle body from the 2.9 then polish/knife edge that instead of polishing your one. or the early golf obd1 throttle body from a 2.8. when we swapped my mani and tb for 2.9 parts mines a 93 obd1 2.8, i noticed my throttle body was exactly the same size as the 2.9 one, even the mechanic was supprised it was fitted to my car as it was completely standard at the time
