Oldirtybastard 0
Will using 10w 40 have negative effects?T
VR6MANN 0
Thanks xyber for the web link Also 10w-40 is what vw recomend but most people say i would be better off with 5/40.I am confused :S
xyber 1
Id say stick with OE spec unless heavily tuned, mines charged and I still use synta silver which is OE spec and good stuff, castrol make it for themIve got a mate who has a VW specialist garage and he said stay wilth synta, he won VW Group master technician of the year 3 years running before he went out on his own so he knows his stuffstay well away from fully sythetic on high milers as the detergents in it could clean away 'good' gunk that may be blocking leaks, causing it to leak like a sieve and be very expensive to fix
VR6MANN 0
Nice one xyber thanks for the info.I know what i will be using.

VR6MANN 0
tps won't supply me,as a individual!!is there anyone in the cambridge area who can get bits for me ? as things are half price from them compared to vw vindis cambridge..
craggsy 91
TPS wont supply you.....strange mine does and always asks about my car now
xyber 1
Its strange as some will, others get quite funnyOne way around it is if you have a mate in any type of vehicle related job, get him to call and say its X from wherever they work, order the parts and say you will send someone over to collect the parts and pay in cash and as with most things in the trade, cash gets you discount aswell
VR6MANN 0
good idea.cheers for that.
