xyber 1
Anyone got any tricks? Just gave it a quick whirl before it started raining and its pretty solid and the crappy position its in stops you getting any leverage on it, even with the proper tool! Looks like I may need some 4-poster time to make life easy
orangecruz 0
lots of heat and penetrating spray should do the trick even better on a ramp
Phat VR6 3
hammer?
VR6_Absy 0
Due to the heat of the exhaust the probe has probably welded itself in and when u do mange to remove it the threads on the probe will be stripped. Are you replacing the probe ? You may need to retap the threads
xyber 1
Yeah putting in a new one as the old one has died and giving low voltage fault on VC, suspected it was on its way for a while. Had a feeling its probably fused itself in, using a hammer did nothing at all! Trying to scav some ramp time on sat morning down my dads work to get some decent access to it and get my fuel usage back to normal fast
craggsy 91
I keep thinking about swapping mine over but dont fancy the job at all
Phat VR6 3
I was joking about the hammer lol,,, Try it hot and cold... might be easyer after a good run when exspanded or on a cold morning.. might make it easyer,,, Can't you double up a pair of spanners, or deep socket and braker bar.. failing that add heat Its coming out one way or another lol Some things that can take minutes ends up 3 hours, unscrew replace lol 5 minute job
xyber 1
I did give the hammer a go but not much point as you have to be careful with the CATSpanners, you cant really get in there as they are up in the tunnel and the lambda is fitted at an angle so the spanners catch everythingThe proper tool is a long socket with a handle in it but its just so seized that was uselessIve had a cunning idea though, just need to digg out a 22mm ring spanner to sacrifice to make up a tool, just waiting for a slot on the ramps now

superted23 0
would the lamda cause it not to start, changed cam and crank sensor, cleaned MAF and ISV and throttle body, battery checked, but when i try starting my vr it over fuels and i think its flooding as you can smell fuel in engine bay, and if it does start plenty out the exhaust? any andvice
xyber 1
No lambda doent start to regulate until coolant hits 50deg I think. Id say your MAF is screwed, get it on VAGCOM and see what it says
