Well heres a wierd one,i have unplugged the abs light and my abs is working as normal again, plug it back in and the abs stops working!?!?

How the hell can just unplugging the light make a difference?

I also had been looking into why the abs light was flashing and i thought it may have been flashing a fault code 2234 {supply voltage}.

So i looked into how to read the fault flash codes though the dianostic socket just above the ash tray behined the little cover on obd1 golf. But every time i tryed to wire it up it would blow the 15amp fuse second from the right in the fuse box?

I was going from the black plug top red + wire to a little led then from the led to the white plug bottom yellow sd wire then back to the black plug bottom brown - wire for 5 second then off with ignition on.But like i said it just blows the fuse straight away?

Am i doing this right?

I am in ashford area mate,if my car dont pass its mot and i ask you nicely ;) could you stick it on your vagcom?

Tbh if it passes its mot i will be alright as its still working with the light unplugged for some reason, and the car is a bit of a dog if i am honest :$ so its not a major problem.

I got that flash code info out of some fault dianostic code book that did have the early 92-96 vr6 golf listed in there?

It the same sort of thing like in these links but i thing on the golf its the abs light that flashes as i dont think it has an engine check light?

Also i dont think the obd1 golf vr6's have the blue plug but in the fault code book i am on about you can do it with just the black and white plug,or maybe there is a blue plug hid up somewhere?

And heres a link to a later obd2 vr6 i think and i think they come with a jumper tool as standard?

Your VR6 wont pass it's MOT if you remove the bulb. ABS light needs to follow the correct sequence of operation' date=' I.E comes on, and then goes out...

I know i was worrying about this a little bit, but i have just had it up there and it has only failed on one anti roll bar link and the emissions which i thought it might fail on as on the old mot it failed on emissions first.

I tryed turning the fuel pressure right down but that just made it worse and i know my cats in bit as i have had bits come out of the exhaust.

I am now just about to go get a new anti roll bar link and a new cat should be in by about 1pm so i am hopeing i can get it knocked back together and take it back up there tommorow, then hopefully its happy days (h)
