Mk2 Golf Screen/headlampwasher bottle

Can anyone confirm for me that the washer jets and headlamp washers are fed from the same bottle?

VW are trying to tell Haddi that the headlamp wash comes from a second bottle.

Needless to say, I don't believe them! ~

steve-pre-86 cars only had a seperate washer resevoir for the rear screen, post-86 switched to a bigger resevoir under the bonnet. headlamp and front/rear washers operate from the under bonnet resevoir. have spoken to several people on this and all agree so far with your thoughts on it, haynes manual makes no note of a seperate tank for headlights either. hope this helps!

Yeah........one bottle on the later cars and 2 on the earler ones.....................the only golf i know that had a larger washer bottle when fitted with head lamp washer jets was the mk1 golf

Cheers guys. Wanted to make sure there were not 2 types. One for with headlamp washers and one for without.

Then all we've got to do is get the thermostat changed so that we can actually drive the damn thing. ~

Ha ha ha! Went in to pick it up today, and guess what ?! It was the wrong one. !amazed They had ordered one for a car without headlamp washers, instead of the 8 litre capacity one.

The excuse..... its the only one they list on the screen! ~ Gave them the part number off the tank on the car and hey presto, they found it. Only trouble is they are on factory back order.
