biggee30 0
I Have the ABS warning light on and VAG COM reveals rear left intermittent fault. So removed small bolt for fixing the sensor then tried to get it off but guess what I broke the bloddy thing off leaving what I guess is some kind of magnetic switch still stuck in which I can't get out.How do I get it out?I guess caliper/pads/disc comes off but then what? Will I be able to poke it out after that?Hope someone can advise me in the season of goodwill and all thatmerry xmas Graham
SankysVR6 1
Once you get the caliper and disc off, you will be able to hammer it out from the wheel side. Just make sure clean up all the bits that have broke off.Good luck with it all.
biggee30 0
Well , managed to get it out WITHOUT REMOVING CALIPER/DISC. Heres how!!!!!The old one broke off with the pick up sensor still stuck in the hub when trying to get it outShown a torch in to see the pick up sensor and lined up one of the wheel bolt holesOut she camesee the difference between old and new -no wonder they go faultyThe new one that I got from this guy on feebay was a bit tight going in so I cleaned up the old hole a bit and eventually it went in and bolted inhttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190263016605&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm38%26_nkw%3D190263016605%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1My concern haven't not removed the brake disc was that the speed ring at the back of the disc would be either dirty or corroded and not fix the problem but after putting everthing back on I plugged the vag com in and reset the intermittent rear left fault and hey presto ABS WARNING LIGHT NOW CLEAR and after a run still claer.MOT due soon so hopefully ok for that.BIG shout to craig (craggsy) for giving me links to rear caliper/disc removal .I will probably need them in the future!Cheers
