t111bul 0
Hi,Last week i took my mk2 vr6 conversion for it's first drive and it was great, it pulled really well and ticked over very well at just under 1000rpm. The car has been sitting for a week as i work abroad. I satrted the car today and it's like a diffrent car. The car now ticks over at just over 500rpm and it sounds as though it is hunting the whole time. When i drove the car it feels like it's holding back all through the rev range and there is a huge flat spot at about 4000rpm, it also pops and bangs when you let off even at slow speeds. It's like it's over fueling. I need help as it need s an MOT asap.ThanksTim.

Phat VR6 3
Try disconecting the MAF first see if it gets better, then check for sparkAlso try removing the backbox and work back. could be your exhaust is blocked
t111bul 0
I'm in Ely so i'm not that far from shepreth but my car has run out of MOT now!I have disconnected the maf and it nearly died completely. I have remembered that the breather pipe that goes from the rocker cover to the inlet pipe was split and i haven't replaced it yetso air can get in there, would that make th engine run rough? thegoth 5
un metered air will have strange effects on the running, so it's certainlt something to do first.what year was the donor car? Does it still have it's diagnostic port accassible?
t111bul 0
The donor was a 1993k reg Mk3 golf coil pack car. What do the diagnostic ports look like i'm not sure if there still in the loom.

t111bul 0
I may have found the problem, it only seems to me messing around when the car is off choke so it's pointing to the lambda sensor! What does anyone else think?
