VRmonster 1 Posted April 18, 2004 Report Share Posted April 18, 2004 hm, id agree with the turbo. just a much nicer setup. none of this constant whining, even at low revs. and minas car puts out 317bhp cos of a lot more mods, not knocking ya car there mina, jus pointing out that to get 300+bhp out of a s/c vr u need a lot of tweeking. mina 0 Posted April 18, 2004 Report Share Posted April 18, 2004 This all comes back to the fundamental problem with the VR6 engine - you have to spend ££££s to get serious bhp/torque. Inevitably any type of forced induction will totally change the character of the engine and power delivery. Personally, I prefer it without the charger (it's so smooth) but then I wouldn't have the smile factor! Link to post Share on other sites
VRmonster 1 Posted April 18, 2004 Report Share Posted April 18, 2004 good point about the auto box, forgot there. and yeah, a turbo does "kick in" after 4000rpm, but id have thaught with a charger, you wouldnt notice it till around the 3000 mark anyway, cos the engine doesnt turn hard till then anyway.
