xgordyx 0
MOT time is comming up, just wondered if anyone has managed to get their car through the mot with a cat replacement pipe fitted? Some say it must have it fitted if the car is post '92 but i've been told it doesn't as long as it's within the emmisions for that year of car? jezmoz 0
i didn't have one for my last and final mot, sailed through on emissions
jesterwalker69 0
Mine sailed through without one as well matey, you should be ok.If you are worried maybe worth running a few tanks of petrol through the car with a shot of Red-X in each tank, meant to help reduce emissions, not sure if it works or not though
Phat VR6 3
This is only because you have sound MOT testers. Your car really shouldn't pass if the cats missing

Your car really shouldn't pass if the cats missing I was looking on the net last night after posting this and i found an mot q&a sight and one of the questions was the same as mine and it sayed it dosen't matter as long as it is within the emissions. The car won't be going for mot any time soon as i'm away back to work on wednesday and i've just melted my coil pack :@
russj249 2
de-cats are fine for MOT as long as it's under limits. We get all of this from VOSA at out place. After all, the cat's only there to bring emissions down, but if it's down enough already whats the need.As for red-x.. brilliant stuff! My VR had emissions check at our place and was running at 3% (limit it 0.200%) I put 250ml of red-x which is enough to treat 2 x 50litre tanks of petrol. I put this with about a litre of petrol. I ran that through and refilled it with petrol after a bit of a thrash. My emissions are now at 0.050% and only 54HC not 700 (200 being the limit)Just nearly empty tank so needle doesn't really move and put a whole 250ml bottle in at once. Shouldn't do it any harm. Works better that way than putting half in with every 50 litres. Also for emissions, go for a nice long thrash with red-x and 98RON petrol. Cleans the system out. Also make sure there's no misfires in the slightest.
