jims13 6
right, got both installed now. what i would like to know is, what fuel pressure are you guys using..ive got my rrfpr , set a 3.5 bar.. and it seems to be working ok.. i realise that it aint gonna be perfect . but it should surfice until end of next month when i can get a chip from c2.im gonna stick it on vagcom later and see whats doing what, with a little logging..also i seem to get sometimes a little bogging, which ive put down to excess fuel before the cams and turbo kick in.cheers jim
Antihero1981 8
think i am doing about 4bar but its on an adjustable FPR
jims13 6
loverly , i have a adjustable pressure reg , so ill set it to that..id rather it overfuel than go bang
FishWick 21
The 4" MAF needs 440cc green tops @ 3 barYou only need a 3" MAF for 310cc red tops with a 10K pot on the MAF signal line.
jims13 6
ah.. a trip to maplins it is then.. green tops are on the cards .. these are a stop gap until i get the chip from c2.i actually runs quite well, with the redtops at 4 bar.. but i dont think ill be pshing it hard.. FishWick 21
Cool. Yeah the Standard OBD2 software adapts the 440s to MAF size automatically, so you'd get better results with them, but the reds should be OK too. Less work for the lambda control!
sharky_70 0
wait a sec, so i could drop my 440's in using the stock MAF, a MAF clamp and the begi? this'll be ok?like Jim, as a stop gap
FishWick 21
Erm, no, you drop the 440s in (@ 3 bar) with a 4" MAF and the stock software will adapt automatically. Is it OBD2 you've got? I've done that myself with OBD2 and it drives OK. Not brilliant, but it'll get you to your remapper. You only need the BEGI and MAF clamp if you're planning on using the stock fuel injectors, stock software, stock MAF and a high pressure fuel pump.I've done that aswell and it worked bloody well :-)Probably my favourite method actually, but it was my first attempt and after a standard VR6, it was crazy fast. sharky_70 0
yeah ive got a walbro intank lined up. stock fuel lines not take the extra pressure?
FishWick 21
The plastic ones clipped to the floor can, it's the rubber hose you use to join them to the rail that you need to pay attention to ;-)
sharky_70 0
a case of them splitting or popping off?was looking at braided lines anyway, something from speedflow?
FishWick 21
Yeah, splitting! The BEGI can increase fuel pressure at a rate of 10:1, so you can easily get 100+ Psi fuel pressure down the lines!
sharky_70 0
wow, ok i'll definately look into that
