There's a lot of orange peel on it.How easy can you flat it without damaging the paint. If i got 2000grit paper wet and after that polish with my mop and 3m finesse-it cutting paste. Will it be flat?Or will this take too much lacquer off and leave blotchy bits all over the paint?Cheers Link to post Share on other sites

Roan 0 Posted February 25, 2009 Report Share Posted February 25, 2009 Claying a car will only remove bonded contaminants, it will not remove swirl marks and certainly won't do anything for orange peel. In fact, it will likely cuase further marring even if used correctly and will result in the paint needing polishing back to perfection.If your inexperienced in paint correction I wouldn't risk attacking it with wet and dry, you're best to get a pro detailer in for something so severe. If you do want to have a go, I would suggest copious amounts of 2000 and 3000 wet and dry, and a good selection of polishes of various cuts and polishing pads.
