Uprated fuel lines...

Recommended Posts

Any of you replaced your rubber fuel hoses that run from the bulkhead to the fuel rail with upgraded ones?

I've notice mine are looking a bit worse for wear so want to replace before I put on the uprated pump. I dont want to see an engine fire!!

Anyone recommend any?

Thanks

Depends really, the standard hoses are good enough, so why not replace with new ones?

Some of us run upgraded lines from the pump to the rail! You can get -6 (10mm ID) lines up the floor no probs and get more flow and no joins.

I always hated the fact the hose joins on the standard setup are right next to the hot turbo manifold!!

My hoses are perished so thought about uprating for the same reason, i dont like the way they join onto the plastic hoses next to a red hot mani either! was going to re-route away with a better quality product when i change them.

Will you be running an external pump at some point? Bosch 044 or something? If so, I would personally ditch the stock plastic lines and replace end to end with -6 heavy duty rubber hoses and heat lag them around the turbo area.

In the meantime, I think the standard hoses, lagged, will be fine. I ran 80+ psi through those with the BEGI on my first setup and they held no probs.

I've tried different hoses on the plastic lines and they just don't attach snugly like the stock hoses, you end up crushing the plastic lines with the jubilee clips in order to get a good enough seal.

I think i might as well replace the lot whilst im fitting the pump, wont have to worry about the joins then.

cheers!
