john555 0 Posted March 4, 2009 Report Share Posted March 4, 2009 can anyone tell me the most boost i can safely run with a vf charger at 9:1 comp i know the charger wont take more than 20psi once i change the bearings but im unsure on what the most boost my engine should be able to take if anyone can help me out that would be great Link to post Share on other sites
FishWick 21 Posted March 4, 2009 Report Share Posted March 4, 2009 I'd keep to 15psi on that compression personally and it will also prolong the life of the Supercharger. Is it a V9? They struggle to make 20psi, even with the uprated bearings and the belt tension required is horrendous. You'll be replacing water pumps and alternators sooner than you'd like.... john555 0 Posted March 4, 2009 Author Report Share Posted March 4, 2009 ah cool thanks mite aim for 15 for now then shouldnt need as much tension on the belt as normal as im in the process of making an a set of pullys that are about 30% bigger than standard still mite increase the water n alternater ones further to try and reduce some of the drag off them only problem is im struggling to find a belt that is long enough Link to post Share on other sites
