SankysVR6 1
Has anyone replaced there door hinges, my front have been sagging for some time. And i thinks about time i sort them out. Seen the guide for using the shims, but can't find anything similar that might do the job.So I'm going to price up some new hinges, spray them at home and hopefully try and fit them over the weekend.Just wanted to know if there is anything i need to watch out for. SankysVR6 1
Not sure it this will work on earlier cars. But on later cars, wind the window down a bit so you can hold it from there when you lift it off. When you open the door there is a small plastic cap on each hinge. Pull the caps off and you will find two grub screws take these out. Then unscrew the door loom that plugs into the A pillar.Undo the check strap bolt. And then with the help of friend lift the door up and off. Then with a T40 torx driver loosen the bottom hinge and pull it out a little.Remove the door latch on the B pillar and refit the door. Check to see if it closes flush at the top, if not take the door off again and re adjust the bottom hinge again. You might need to do this a few times to get it spot on.Once done, put everything back and enjoy.
