tandino 1
Got it all fitted up yesterday despite the pulley tensioner stud being too short due to my car having a/c - due to the larger A/C pulley this makes everything a tighter fit belt wise and therefore the tensioner stud which you use to tension the ribbed belt wasnt long enough to allow me to feed and seat the belt on all the pulley then tension the whole lot up.I had to get the belt on all the pulley except the power steering one and then prise it over before trying to tension the whole affair up.This itself proved problematical as the tensioner bolt being at the end of its thread/travel refused to co-operate a number of times due to the thread slipping....Other pain in the arse is that my ecu has the soldered in eprom chip as opposed to the chip carrier - luckily ive found a local chap who will hopefully solder it in tonight 8) Fingers crossed eh Ill put some pics up tomorrow when the bleeding things out of my garage Pete. Moon 0
What kind of preasure do you run with chargers ?And do you have to start using higher octane fuel or change to a lower compression ?Its something I'm tempted with myself
tandino 1
The ZR2 that ive got (same as Minty's) runs around 6.5psi - this gives approx 260bhp and 230lb/ft torque,As for fuel - you should use either Super or Optimax - anything other than 95 ron unleaded really 8) - not a problem for me as i always do anyhow.....Compression ratio stays the same at this boost level so its a bolt on affair 8) I paid £1100 for the charger (s/h), £100 for a chip, £25 for a 4 bar fuel pressure regulator and its going to cost me approx £30 to get the chip soldered - Total =£1250 :! - pretty good value when you look at the small gains you get with a Schrick dont you think Pete. Moon 0
mmm sounds good I gues at that preasure charge temperatures stay quite low and thats a good increase in power I think .Hows the transmision for that kind of power ?
tandino 1
Its torque that kills boxes not bhp so i dont think itll be a problem if you look after it 8) Pete.

tandino 1
Hmmm - should have listened to you Rich (out of interest where did you read it??),Chap who's got my ecu has managed to remove the old chip - unfortunately the new chip carrier is impossible to mount and solder to the board due to the close proximity of other components. He's ordered a new chip carrier from RS so ill hopefully get it all up and running by the end of the week Bloody cars Pete.
