twoscoops 0
GuysMy engine makes what can only be described as a whining noise when it is started from cold. Any thought? It doesnt sound like the marble description of the timing chain.Cheers!

rodney 17
some guys do/have mentioned the whine when cold.If I recall as long as there were no belts or steering fluids etc low or slack and they were all good and clean then got me stumped. But i am sure there are a few chaps(esses) on here whose cars do and there is nothing wrong just old and complaining about being cold if you see what i mean. I'm sure they'll pipe up shortlyIf you haven't already worth just checking the basics though..
shail 0
When its cold outside (near zero degrees) mine whines in the morning for a few mins. Sounds a bit like a milk float. Its always done this with no problems.
spindat45 0
It's the oil pump at the back of the engine below the throttle body guys. It complains about being woken up as we all do, on cold mornings. As long as it quietens down after a few minutes on idle you have nothing to worry about. Another reason to make sure your oil is always topped up Kevin
