jonny_gti 0 Posted March 21, 2009 Report Share Posted March 21, 2009 hi guys recently blew a piston in my golf vr6 and I am about to buy a rado 2.9 vr6 for it.was wondering what are the difference to LOOK at between a OBD1 2.8 & 2.9 as i dont want to go buy a obd1 2.8 loli know there are some differences between the obd2 2.8 and 2.9 but i think the obd1 2.8 & 2.9 look the same :S thanks Link to post Share on other sites

UnitedMotorsport 55 Posted March 22, 2009 Report Share Posted March 22, 2009 The bore is 1mm more compared to the 2.8 engine.The Camshafts are different.The inlet manifold and throttle body is different to that of the 2,8, in both OBD1 and OBD2 guises.Also the ECU software is different.
