sparkyjr 0 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Share Posted March 26, 2009 I have a knocking noise coming from the front i have replaced the engine and gear box mounts so it must be the cv joint but not sure what side. is there a way of finding out if so how ? Also if it needs replacing is it worth getting a genuin vw one or gsf and what else will i need ie Track rod ???? Link to post Share on other sites
buttmrt 0 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Share Posted March 26, 2009 What sort of a knocking noise is it?? is it all the time?? could be the anti roll bar link is worn. The rubber wears and then the anti roll bar bangs about. Check that first they're only about 15 quid and easy to fit. Does it click when on full lock as this is a sure sign of a bust/worn cv joint.
