sadken 0
Hi there fellow VR6 owners and thanks for reading my post. For the last week or two, I have noticed a whirring (wheel bearing gone) kind of sound whilst driving, particularly when turning left or steering straight ahead, not when turning right.I know the brake pads are low at the back. When the engine was off the other day, I rolled gently for a few yards down the hill where I live and there was the grinding sound which is normally related to brake pads worn down but it was there as I rolled, even before braking when it made the grinding sound even more.I drove a short distance to my Mam's yesterday and after |I had arrived, I touched the driver side rear brake disc which was cold but the passenger side which I suspect is the culprit side was red hot. What do I need to replace? Also, the local independent VW guy mentioned that the wheel bearing was part of the brake assembly or something related to it, I wasn't really listening as he starting to mention crazy money!Apologies for the long post and here's hoping you good people can offer some pearls of wisdom.RegardsMike.
