tandino 1
TommyI quite literally shat myself this evening.Got the ECU back from a former electronics engineer (top bloke by the way) with the GIAC stage 1 chip in the GIAC chip carrier (basically an extra mini raised PCB with a chip socket on it) - pluged it all in to the car and turned it over but it wouldnt fire.....Thats about when i soiled my pants for the first time.Right i thought - ill swap the GIAC chip for the original to rule out any probs with the Stage 1 chip - plugged the original in and - NOTHING - i really shat myself now and had visions of needing a new ecu Just about resigned myself to the fact that if it wouldnt run with the stock chip in then i was up the swanny without a paddle..Decided to remove it all and instead of using the GIAC chip carrier just place the chip straight in the carrier i had soldered on the main board - IT STARTED 8) Basically theres some problem with the GIAC carrier but i felt i was in big trouble for a moment Of course all the fears of inserting the chip the wrong way round were flashing through my hwad - this basically fries the chip - and i had fitted my stock and the stage 1 chip already.Alls well that ends well though - shes running like a champ Pete as for yuor question - well by the seat of the pantometer id say about 260bhp Pete.[ Edited Fri Nov 05 2004, 05:59PM ]

binliner 0
Pete you and minty going down the quarter together is going to sound awesome! resetting the throttle body is easy... just turn the ignition on (but dont start it) and leave it for about a minute (you'll hear the tb making lots of whirring noises... when it stops turn the ignition off and then start it up
tandino 1
Cheers justin - ill do that tomorrow at some point 8) As for the pod on Sunday - i really want to make it - just got to persuade the missus its a good idea too as she is currently voicing those two letters that every chap in a relationship dreads to hear - QT = Quality 'F**king' Time ~Obviously i was away all last w/e and she thinks this weekend is devoted for me to be nice and lovey dovey to her Ive already offered to drop her at Bluewater/Lakeside for some 'retail therapy' but surprisingly this doesnt seem to be working Plan B - is to tell her im going anyway Pete.[ Edited Thu Nov 04 2004, 10:05PM ]
