actually had a dream that i had one! havnt seen one in particular, but just looked on autotrader and there startiin at under 5 grand!

not saying id sell my vr to get one now, but in future maybe... plus alot cheaper to get 270bhp out of, just a remap will get close i think?

My nephews got one it's nice' date=' don't get me wrong.

But the sound of the 4pot winding up, is just lame. The VR just sound so much better even it is not as fast.

good point cant beat the sound of a vr, other than a v8 of course

i just got my sister a 2001 s3 with 37.000 miles on the clock, Ming blue with cream leather for £5000. Ive got to say it has tons of grip through the corners when your pushin it, but for some reason, i thought it would be much quicker than the vr. I was left a little disappointed esp with the whizzy sound it makes compared to the vr

My TT has the same engine and quattro system as the S3, and it's quicker and better on fuel than the VR6, it handles better, the only thing is the sound, nothing sounds like a VR on song. A remap is a waste of time tooo, I had my last TT mapped by amd to 270 bhp, it was 0.5 sec to 60mph and did 158mph so 7 mph faster, but it lost all it's midrange torque it had so you were constantly changing gear if you were at low revs. After a VR6 you would hate the lack of torque a remapped 4 pot has.

Best way to get more power and keep it better for normal driving is to go for a bigger turbo, intercooler, ecu green injectors etc....
