VR6Pete 1,455 Posted April 3, 2009 Report Share Posted April 3, 2009 It would help if you said which version of VAG-COM (known as VCDS) you are using. newer versions of VAG-COM required the offical VAG-COM cable that has the built in activation dongle that licences the software upon connecting it to the vehicle. try using release 409.1 of VAG-COM if your using an unoffical cable, you will need to licence the software to unlock all the features. sirleeofroy 0 Posted April 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted April 3, 2009 Ok, i have tried vagcom 311-2, 409.1 and the 812 beta none of which find a cable, when i plugged the cable in it came up as a usb <-> serial cable if that helps, i dont need it plugged into the car for it to recognise do i?? Ben Seabrook 4 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Share Posted April 19, 2009 had the same problem with mine mate and could not get it to run with Vista at all in the end I had to run a second machine alongside mine using vmware and ran windows xp in that and it worked fine Link to post Share on other sites
