Ok, so Im thinking about increasing my loan an extra couple of grand so I can do some serious shopping. The loan I got was originally just for the car, but there is no way Ill be able to save and Im an impatient person :D Im thinking about getting airride suspension fitted and I'd like to know what you guys think about it.

I found an american site which sells a premium kit for $1099. Are there any good brands I should go for? Has anyone got airride on their VR? This is just an idea at the moment, I saw a video on youtube and I thought it looked pretty smart. Also practical for when my VR is slammed even lower, Crawley has a few nasty speed humps.

If I can get the loan increased, that will be a nice set of chrome Schmidt deep dish rims and some airride suspension I think ;)

Looks cool when you drop it on the floor at shows but not so cool when you're driving around at a gay ride height with crap (in comparison to coilovers) handling... don't know the exact costs but you're looking at about £2k fitted I'd guess plus any resulting bodywork you might need to allow the huge drop plus another £1500 or so for the wheels... you don't need airride to get over speed bumps you just need to slow down for them ;)

What happened to the forced induction idea?

Im only going to supercharge the VR once my little 1.4 is on the road again, which wont be for another year :P The supercharged VR will only be to show off in at the weekends ;) Ill keep my 1.4 to drive to work in to save petrol costs.

I have too many ideas and I want everything yesterday. I just thought the airride suspension looked impressive, but I suppose once u add up all the costs, its not worth it. Shame though.

i'd say the opposite. why would you need air-ride for a show car, that only gets driven to and from shows? if i had 2k i'd get air-ride

you can make it handle far better these days. you can get kits to use any shock insert you want, so kw, koni...

then uprated arbs and polybushes jobs a gooden

I would also pass and wouldnt get air ride its for false dubbers, get coilovers, a jack, and a sump gaurd and itll be good times! But as for the smidtz, deffo i love em i want some but i aint got 1700+ spare british pounds, although i have also just got a phat loan today for 'home improvements' (dont even own my own home haha! only way of getting one)

If i was you i would spend it on things that can be seen and will add more value to the car. I have spent time thinking about getting air ride but been put off and stuck with the proper dub way :P

yup i agree justin been in a bug with air ride looked wicked when sat still and on the deck but when drivin man it was worse then standard vw suspenion you could walk under it and felt like it was goin to topple over on every corner .... just get some top notch coliovers or some half decent ones and the wheels put the £2k towards a charger ull enjoy it more ....
