3000 miles, 3000 smiles....... and a few issues

Had my VR for about 2 months now, done 3 thousand miles, and had the time of my life driving it. The torque, the power, the handling, the solid feel of the car........... and the recaro's, mmmmm

Last week on bank holiday, there was a loud clunk, followed by smoke from the bonnet. I turned it off, popped the bonnet, and found the waterpump had seized solid :S

Bastardo. Had to get a £25 taxi for parts, then 3 hours in the rain to fit it. First time ever, so quite impressed with myself. Also greased up the tensioner while I was there, so that should last for a while

Then, yesterday, whilst parked up with my wheel turned, I notice a slight bit of wear on the fronts:

So, new tyre, gave it a wash, nailed it across the hills, and took a few more snaps:

bit of tyre wear !!! lol looks good thou ... did you put a metal fin water pump in or plastic ???

Nice one mate, LOL at the jack, you've got more faith than me! would have had some wheels under it, or a brick at least

Cabrioman, I put the metal finned one in. The original one had all fins present, but the bearings had failed.

Spoonman, had to use my brick to drive up onto, to get the jack underneath, lolol

was it hard fitting teh waterpump? nice work
